Leesburg, VA (April 23, 2015) —  Lonesome River Band will headline the 6th Annual Loudoun Bluegrass Festival on May 9, 2015. The event will take place from 10am10pm at the Loudoun County 4-H Fairgrounds located at 17558 Dry Mill Road in Leesburg, Virginia. Tickets are available at www.bluegrassloudoun.com.  Advance tickets are $20.00 Adults (14 and older) or $30 at the gate. Youth (7-13) tickets are $8 and children 6 and under are free.

 

All profits from the event will go to helping pay tuition for deserving local students who otherwise could not afford college, to Cops for Kids that brings Christmas to children in Loudoun County, and to other charities of the Rotary Club of Dulles International Airport.

 

Sign-up is now open for the Pickin’ Contest with Cash prizes for Band Competition, Banjo, Fiddle, Flatpicking, and Mandolin.  Pre-register for contests at www.bluegrassloudoun.com.  Bring your favorite lawn chair, but no outside food or drink is allowed.

 

This family friendly festival will take place rain or shine with plenty of indoor and outdoor pickin’ areas, workshops (Vocal, Banjo, Bass, Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, and Clogging.) Join us for a Barn Dance, Bluegrass, Old-time, Swing & Irish Jams.  Great food, BBQ and local wineries will be present.

 

Lonesome River Band will be performing songs from their exciting new album, Turn On A Dime released on Mountain Home Music. The label just released a brand new music video “Lila Mae” that can be viewed on YouTube and the band’s website. The multi-award winning band includes native Virginian, Sammy Shelor who is a member of the Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame, is a 5-Time Winner of the IBMA Banjo Player of the Year Award, and recipient of the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo in Bluegrass. He is joined by the incredible talents of Brandon Rickman (Guitar, Lead & Harmony Vocals, Mike Hartgrove (Fiddle), Randy Jones (Mandolin, Lead & Harmony Vocals), and Barry Reed (Bass) who perform LRB’s trademark sound that fans, media and radio continue to praise.
