Doug Ford is the Station Manager at Rejoice 89.1, WKNG in Tallapoosa, Georgia. Their station tagline is “Southern Gospel by day, Worship by night,” and we think that is a great motto for a radio station!
We asked Doug some questions. Here are his answers…..

Vonda: At what age did you know you wanted to be a radio DJ?
Doug: Actually, I didn’t know it until age 52.

Vonda: What is a “super wow moment” that happened to you while working radio?
Doug: I got to go to the National Quartet Convention. I had always wanted to go and I had a great time. It was exciting seeing all the artists in person. Also, I got lots of free music!

Vonda: Of all the places in the world, where would you like to visit?
Doug: That’s easy, Yellow Stone Park!

Vonda: What is you favorite restaurant?
Doug: I love Longhorn Steakhouse and go there every chance I get.

Vonda: Everyone has someone that has impacted his or her life. Who has impacted yours and why?
Doug: My pastor, Brother Darryl Jones. He worked with me on being patient. Trusting God with the little things has been hard for me. He helped me a lot and for that I am grateful!

Thanks Doug for answering our questions as we put you in the DJ Spotlight! Fans can listen to Rejoice 89.1 if they are in the area, or online at www.rejoice891.com.
