TorchmenSt. Catharines, Ontario (September 17, 2015) – The Torchmen Quartet from St. Catharines, Ontario have been nominated for the 2015 Southern Gospel Album Of The Year GMA Canada Covenant Award. The nominated recording is Run Through The Gates. The group is currently in their 46th year of ministry and has often appeared on the mainstage at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville Kentucky.

tmrg“Of all of the 30-some projects that the Torchmen have recorded over the years, I have listened to this one more than any others,” said Mike Moran, The Torchmen’s owner and baritone singer. “The songs are inspiring, including the quiet tribute to the ‘70’s Cathedrals. I am thankful for the great work done by Jim Brady and Tim Parton with the tracks, the vocals done at Grant Ave Studios here in Hamilton, and the final mixing by our own Jon Hisey. Everyone went above and beyond and it shows in the final product. I guess you can tell I’m very happy with the end result.”

The Torchmen Quartet have become Canada’s premier Southern Gospel male quartet and have travelled across most of North America with their music. The Quartet is Grammy-nominated and has been the recipient of numerous Covenant Awards. Current group members include Mike Moran, Jon Hisey, Sandy McGregor and Jeff Tritton. The Torchmen are currently working on a Christmas project. More information on The Torchmen Quartet can be found at http://www.torchqt.com/ .
